Recently, I provided suggestions on helping protect your loved one from strangers who try to befriend your loved one and take advantage of them. Today, I want to talk to YOU about how you can avoid scams.

I know we may THINK we know all the tricks, but if people weren’t falling for some of these things, the scams would stop.
Whether it is an email, a text, a phone call, or a Facebook post, you need to investigate before you react.

I’ll provide examples of many of the most common scams and show you ways to evaluate the information so you can take control and avoid falling for the scammers.

When in doubt you can always check out the websites FactCheck.org and Snopes.com to stay up-to-date about false advertising, scams, or other news that may seem too good to be true. Unfortunately it usually is too good to be true.
